During the southern summer (November to April), the Pupu Rangi Nature Sanctuary opens its doors to volunteers and interns.
As a reference, you can check the availability for the Conservation Volunteer and the Explorer programs in the calendar shown on this page.
Due to Covid 19, entry to New Zealand is reserved to residents or to those that arrive from countries that New Zealand has a travel bubble with. We are ready to start a new season in November 2021 and we accept applications from those that are currently located in New Zealand or Cook Islands. Priority will be given to those participants that are vaccinated against Covid 19.
Green dates indicate more than two places available, Yellow dates indicate less than three places available, Red indicates no availability. Please note that our programs start and end on Mondays only, the only exception being the last week of each month when the program ends on a Friday.
To ensure that you can secure a spot, we recommend that you make a booking for the Intern and long term Conservation Volunteer positions at least six months in advance, for a short term Volunteer position and the Explorer program at least two months in advance, and for the Tree Tent Experience at least one month in advance.
To apply for an internship (maximum two places available) or a long term volunteer position (more than three weeks in duration), please email us a motivation letter and a resume to email@example.com. We will then invite you to a Skype/WhatsApp interview.
To apply for a short-term Conservation Volunteer position (three weeks or less), please email us your preferred start date and length of stay so we can confirm the availability and fee.
For last moment reservations, please email us and we will get back to you within 12 hours.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for details on refunds and cancellations.
